A Note on Your Time & Your Pet's Comfort
In the great majority of cases, we aim to complete a comprehensive consultation and begin treatment during your first visit. However, our priority is always your pet's comfort and willingness to "opt in" to treatment. If your pet is excessively anxious or fearful, or if the complexity of the case or depth of discussion requires more time than allotted, we may not be able to start treatment during the initial consultation. For situations that warrant additional time or special needs, please let us know beforehand. We can then discuss scheduling a longer appointment at a modest additional fee to ensure your pet receives the unhurried, tailored care they deserve.
Your First Visit: Comprehensive Integrative Consultation
This initial 90-minute consultation is essential for a full assessment of your pet's pain, strength, and mobility deficiencies. You'll leave with a clear understanding of the path ahead, and often a starter home exercise program to begin your proactive journey immediately.
Future Visits: Treatment, Continual Learning, Building Resilience and Resourcefulness
Following your initial consultation, we may recommend focused follow-up appointments, precisely tailored to your pet's ongoing needs and your shared goals. These might include:

Cancellations and Rescheduling Policy: Transparent & Fair
At Ruff Day Vet, we understand that life can sometimes disrupt plans. Therefore, we have the following cancellation policy:
No Fee for Early Cancellations or Rescheduling: There is no fee with at least 72 hours' notice. Please provide as much notice as possible (two weeks or earlier is very much appreciated) to help our business.
Late Fees (Less than 72 hours): Subject to a last-minute cancellation fee of 25% of the appointment cost.
Late Fees (Within 48 hours): Charged 50% of the appointment cost.
Late Fees (Within 24 hours & No-Shows): Charged 100% of the appointment cost.
If cancellations become a recurring issue, we may terminate our relationship at our discretion.
Time Commitment and Punctuality: Respecting Your Time & Ours
Comprehensive appointments are scheduled to ensure ample time for your pet's needs. Treatment times vary: single Shockwave sessions are typically under 10 minutes, while comprehensive sessions can take 30–90 minutes.
Please follow these steps upon arrival:
Please arrive in our parking lot 10 minutes before your appointment for a pet potty break.
To avoid interrupting the previous patient, please come to the front door no sooner than 5 minutes before your scheduled time and follow the door signage.
If your pet needs assistance getting from the parking lot to the office, please call or email ahead of time, then text us when you arrive. Late arrivals may result in a shortened or rescheduled consultation to ensure we stay on schedule for everyone.
