Your Story Matters More Than You Think (Especially If You Wish You'd Found Us Sooner)
Here's something we believe that most veterinary practices don't talk about: if you go down, your pet goes down with you.
When your dog is managing IVDD, or navigating senior mobility challenges, or recovering from surgery, this isn't a sprint. It's a marathon. And marathons require resilience, resourcefulness, and a support system that actually works. Not just for your pet. For you.
That's why the reviews that stay with us aren't the ones that say "great service" or "friendly staff." They're the ones that say:
"I wish we'd found you sooner."
Or:
“My dog actually loves coming here; they get excited when we pull into the parking lot."
Or:
"You're the vet I trust most, even though we see specialists for other things."
Those reviews matter because they tell other families what's actually possible when veterinary care becomes a genuine partnership instead of episodic appointments.
And right now, we need your help to share your experience.
*Important Note: This campaign is open to current and former Ruff Day Vet clients who have had a direct experience with our services.
Partners in Purpose: Your Story Can Fund Community Care
We have a marketing budget. We could spend it entirely on advertising. But here's what we'd rather do: give you a reason to share your story while supporting the local organizations that embody the same values we live by.
We need your help making this work. Write a detailed, authentic review on Google or Facebook about your pet's experience with Ruff Day Vet. Once you do, we'll donate $15 to the local charity of your choice.
The three organizations we've partnered with are:
Forgotten Dog Rescue – Finding forever homes for senior and special needs dogs
Old Dog Haven – Providing compassionate care and second chances for dogs in need
Fish Food Bank – Supporting local families and community members who need food assistance
Each of these organizations helps the helpers. And helping helpers helps everyone. Some of our patients come from these rescues, dogs who are harder to place because of age or ongoing medical needs. Fish Food Bank addresses one of the most fundamental human needs for people in our community who are struggling. This is where we want our resources to go.
What Makes a Review Actually Helpful (And Why We Need Yours)
The reviews that help other pet parents the most aren't generic. They're specific. They tell the story of what you were dealing with and what changed.
When you share your experience, you become the answer to someone else's 2 a.m. Google search. You're the voice that says "this is possible" when another family is scared and doesn't know where to turn.
The most useful reviews include:
What your pet was struggling with (mobility loss, chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, senior decline)
What you tried before you found us (if applicable)
The specific services or approaches that made a difference (rehab therapy, acupuncture, laser therapy, customized care plans, the collaborative approach)
How your pet's day-to-day life has changed
How your experience as a caretaker has changed
You don't need to make it perfect. You just need to make it real.
How You Can Help
Step 1: Write Your Review
Share your experience on Google or Facebook. Take your time. Be specific. Tell the story that you'd want to read if you were searching late at night, worried about your own dog or cat, wondering if there was a better way.
*Important: Please include a brief disclosure in your review, something simple like:
"Ruff Day Vet made a charitable donation for my time writing this review."
This transparency helps other readers understand the context and is required by FTC guidelines.
Step 2: Let Us Know
After you post, fill out this quick form and select which charity should receive your $15 donation. We'll process it within 5 business days and send you confirmation.
That's it. Ten minutes of your time becomes support for families in need, hope for another pet parent, and continued funding for the kind of care your dog deserves.
A note on transparency: This donation isn't contingent on a positive review or a five-star rating. It's for your time and effort in sharing an honest, detailed account of your experience. We want authentic feedback because that's what actually helps other families make informed decisions. The $15 recognizes that thoughtful writing takes real effort, and we'd rather invest our marketing budget in you and our community than in ads.
Per FTC guidelines, we ask that you include a simple disclosure in your review (like "Ruff Day Vet made a charitable donation for my time writing this review") so other readers have full context.
For Those With Transformation Stories: Let's Go Deeper
Some of you have been through something extraordinary with your pet. Complete recovery from IVDD. Years of sustained quality of life when you were told to expect decline. A pain management outcome that gave you real time back together.
If your pet's journey represents what's possible with integrative, specialized care over the long term, we'd love to feature your story in more depth. A detailed case study. A video testimonial. Something that shows families what this approach can actually do.
Interested? Reach out to us directly and let's talk about how we can tell your story together in a way that gives hope to others facing similar challenges.

We Need Your Help
You show up for your pet every single day. You do the exercises. You make the drive. You ask the questions. You advocate when things aren't working. That kind of commitment doesn't just help your own dog. When you share it, it becomes a roadmap for other families who are trying to figure out what's possible.
Right now, we're asking you to be that roadmap for someone else.
We're grateful for your partnership, and we're grateful you're helping us support the helpers in our community.
